Hello Kitty x McDonald’s 2001 King & Queen Plush

Sanrio’s Hello Kitty x McDonald’s comes up with the cutest ideas! This is the 3rd series to the Hello Kitty & Dear Daniel McDonald’s plush collection, also known as the “King and Queen Series”.

Remember the Hello Kitty x McDonald’s 1999 Love McKitty Plush and the Hello Kitty x McDonald’s 2000 McSweet Millennium Love Plush? I love the fact that the first set can be refer to Hello Kitty and Dear Daniel dating; the second set can be refer to them getting married; and the third set is when they officially become king and queen:D Special thanks to Ivy & Esther for this rare Hello Kitty x McDonald’s collection <3

Hello Kitty and Dear Daniel McDonald’s Japan King & Queen

This concludes the last of the Hello Kitty and Dear Daniel McDonald’s collectible plush. If it wasn’t for Esther <3 who magically found me through an online search engine, I would have never be able to get this awesome Hello Kitty collection. The “King and Queen” series is just as cute! If I had to choose my favorite, it’ll probably be Hello Kitty and Dear Daniel in the Japanese King and Queen outfit. That’s only because she’s wearing pink and I love pink <3 Which one is your favorite King and Queen?

Hello Kitty at Takashima-Ya

posted by:

I used to work in San Gabriel a couple years ago and I would always admired Takashima from the outside. The store was always so bright when I drove by and you can see tons of Hello Kitty products through the glass window.

I was so impressed by all the Hello Kitty products they carry. For those who never heard of this store, they specialize in imported Japanese products, mainly focusing on cosmetics, beauty supplies and Hello Kitty. In fact their entire second floor is dedicated to Hello Kitty :]

Takashima carries imported Hello Kitty straight from Japan, I haven’t found any flaws to the store yet, so I am assuming with my best abilities that everything is legit. They carry a wide range of rare Hello Kitty appliances from Hello Kitty digital cameras to Hello Kitty rice cooker.

Upon entering the store, you’ll be greeted with these Hello Kitty gem stickers for your phone, Hello Kitty calendars, mirrors and much more.

The bottom floor of the store mainly consist of cosmetics and beauty supplies so I headed upstairs, here are a few things I wamt to share :]

This is not your regular calculator, it’s actually 4x the size of a pocket calculator :D

I <3 the Hello Kitty alarm clock on the right,

Hello Kitty is encouraging us to save up. Spend less, save more!

Hello Kitty fleece blanket

Hello Kitty quilt blanket

Valentine’s Day is coming up <3 I would definitely recommend this Hello Kitty heart pillow for someone you like :] Perhaps a girl for those readers that are guys!

Hello Kitty breast cancer awareness plush and pillow.

I really like this pink Hello Kitty pouch and cell phone holder on the right.

Matching Hello Kitty soap dispensers, but you can probably put lotion or something else in there.

Takashima definitely has a wide range of Hello Kitty plushes and products, some of which I’ve never seen before. Since their items are mostly imported from Japan, most items may cost more than an average Hello Kitty item at the Sanrio store. Personally I think Takashima is more like a Hello Kitty sightseeing place, but hey maybe you will find something that is worth the price.

While I made my way back downstairs, I came across rows and rows of Hello Kitty boxes. The boxes look so cute I had to pick one out and see what it was.

Hello Kitty soap bubble jewelry box :P

When I opened the box, I saw the cutest Hello Kitty ever, a popped up Hello Kitty! Inside there was two bars of Hello Kitty body soap and a hand soap. This gift set definitely made my day. But sadly it was not for sale, I insisted on buying the gift set and tried to convince the employees to sell it:]

But I’ll let you decide what the outcome was… …

Hello Kitty Fan Appreciation Day

I have been excited all week. Today is the day! Hello Kitty wants to says Thank You for all our loving support! With a special guest appearance by “Kitty Mama” Yuko Yamaguchi [Hello Kitty's head designer] she flew in all the way from Tokyo Japan! And creator of Tokidoki, Simone Legno, as he launch the exclusive Tokidoki x Hello Kitty 35th anniversary collection!

While waiting in line, I met Yazmin:] She came out all the way from Pasadena this morning, that’s a long drive! Hopefully I’ll see you again at future Hello Kitty Events!

Upon receiving our gift bags, we went inside Royal/T to grab 2 copies of the Tokidoki for Hello Kitty posters. Then we jump into the other line for the artist signing. Without thinking, I realize we had to wait another 2 and half hours because the signing takes place at 1pm.

Tokidoki for Hello Kitty Poster, $20. Only 200 copies were available.

I met Simone Legno for the very first time. He’s such a sweet guy, he signed my poster and card board holder:] It’s like two poster in one package, totally worth it!

I didn’t get a chance to take a picture with Kitty Mama because someone had told me I wasn’t allow to take a picture with her at the signing:[ I ran into her later in the afternoon when the signing  ended and manage to snap a quick picture with her. Did you know it was also Kitty Mama's birthday today? Happy Birthday and Thank You again for coming out to "Three Apples."

Three Apples: Hello Kitty’s 35th Anniversary

Today marks the grand opening of Hello Kitty’s Three Apples Exhibit, it is the first and only official Hello Kitty event hosted by Sanrio in North America. I always dreamt of going to one of these events in Asia and now it’s here. In honor of Hello Kitty’s 35th Birthday, Sanrio has collaborated with JapanLA to host this event at Royal/T Cafe in Culver City, CA. Here is a brief summary of the event I extracted from their web page.

  • Celebrate Hello Kitty’s 35 anniversary at “Three Apples” and fill your heart with Hello Kitty Colors:hellokittythreeapplescolors
  • A Hello Kitty art gallery curated by Jamie Rivadeneira, owner of JapanLA with collaborations of over 80+ contemporary artists and fans.
  • A Hello Kitty Apartment featuring wall-to-wall Hello Kitty products.
  • A Retrospective gallery of Hello Kitty’s product since 1974 to present. With kitty items along with collaboration with Betsey Johnson, Paul Frank, Tokidoki and MAC. Featuring a more “unique” section with special items, “Only in Japan.”
  • For the next three weeks of celebration, fans are invited to Hello Kitty breakfasts and tea parties, fan appreciation day, Halloween party, birthday party, meet the artist party, bats and cats masquerade party and fashion show. All events are free of charge<3
  • Don’t forget to visit the pop-up store with Japanese imported goods and pick up a limited edition item from Hello Kitty’s 35th anniversary collection.

For more details you can visit the official Sanrio’s Three Apples Page.

As for me, for the next three weeks, I’ll be occupying myself with many Hello Kitty events to come:] I arrived super early today with about 5-6 people ahead of me. There wasn’t a crowd since today is Friday, most people were probably at work or school. So, I loaded myself with picture every around the corner, hoping that I didn’t miss any spots.

I manage to take a few shots of the inside before they take off tomorrow. I spoke with the owner and he said the airstream will be sitting in storage before the new owner takes over. I’m so sad to see it go!
